Gurukulam Project

To achieve the objectives and in order to impart and absorb this vast repository knowledge and wisdom, we need a place conducive to both teaching and learning of Vedanta. A place which is tranquil and far from the crowded cities; a place that is close to nature and above all accessible by Mumbaikars and through Mumbai, students from all across the globe.

We wish to set up a Gurukulam on the outskirts of Mumbai. It will be used to conduct spiritual camps, retreats of 4-7 days to help people to learn, spend time on meditatation and other spiritual practices. We also plan to conduct camps for students and children to equip them to face modern challenges of life, be able to think clerly, feel strongly and act decisively.

In a nutshell this ashram will allow people a place of quiet retreat away from the stress and bustle of the city and an opportunity to connect with nature and their true selves.

It will consist of a temple, lecture hall complex, a kitchen-dining complex, a Yoga/Tai Chi studio, children’s activity center, a bookstore, an office complex and some simple residential units.

Aarsha Vidya Foundation currently has two Vedanta teachers, Swami Brahmavidananda and Swamini Brahmaprajnananda. In order to make learning fulfilling and comfortable, adequate basic infrastructure is necessary. A project such as this needs the financial assistance for it to fructify. We need your support By contributing in which ever way you can (financial or infrastructure), you will contribute to making the teachings of Vedanta accessible and to preserving our heritage. Aarsha Vidya Foundation is a registered trust and all donations (in Rupees) are exempt from Income Tax under Section 80 G.
