In the vision of Vedanta, you are the solution to the very problem from which you suffer. “I am Brahman, the whole” is Vedanta. Vedanta does not offer a solution. The solution is Vedanta. The teaching is generally in the form of dialogues between a teacher and a student. Just as in the ancient times, classes are held here in Mumbai.
Vedanta classes reveal in-depth knowledge of self and reality, focus on healthy interface of the individual with the world for psychological and spiritual growth, unravel and discuss the wisdom of Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and Brahmasutras, introduce and teach meditative practices. Each class is usually for an hour which includes recitation of the verses of the Sanskrit text with an unfoldment of the teaching in English.
Contemporary examples from daily living are often cited to see the deep relevance of Vedic wisdom in their lives. Students are welcome and encouraged to clarify doubts and ask questions at the end of the class.
This invaluable knowledge is priceless and hence no fees are charged for the classes nor is anyone denied. However as is the conventional practice students do offer gurudakshina to the teacher on the basis of whatever they think is appropriate. Although the students are in a group, the beauty of live teaching is that it is one-to-one teaching. As has often been the experience of numerous students, so many issues are resolved in a Vedanta class as the guru unfolds Vedic wisdom – and it’s just what the student needed to hear!
